Northside is Canberra’s only community service organisation employing it own staff and providing domestic and personal care services to eligible clients under the Home and Community Care (HACC) scheme.  The program, Choice Care, caters for people within Canberra’s inner north who are in need of
support services in order to maintain their independence.

In addition, transport services are provided for clients who are unable to access public transport.


Eligibility

People of any age can be eligible for HACC services.  Within the context of the services provided by Northside, to be assisted by HACC, a person:

1.      Must live in the community;

2.      Have difficulty in performing everyday tasks without help because of a disability; and/or,

3.      May require admission to long term residential care if it were not for assistance from HACC services.

The process of establishing eligibility starts with an application - click here for the form.  This will be followed within five days by a visit from one of our staff to seek further information about your circumstances so that a decision can be made on eligibility and the type of service that is required.  Further information on HACC eligibility can be found at:
