Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Programs
Northside has been working in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families to develop services that are both interesting, relevant and culturally appropriate.Current programs running from Northside involve tutoring and educational support, family holiday activities and social support groups to encourage parents to link in with their local schools.
Learning Journey's - Children & Youth
This program is aimed at increasing the literacy and numeracy skills of children in need of a little extra support. Sessions are developed to engage and entertain particpants and are available both in school hours or after school. For further information please contact the Program Coordinator on 6257 2255.
Learning Journey's - Parents Program
This program has been developed in consultation with parents in the community who want to play a more active role in their childs schooling but are unsure how to go about it. For further information please contact the Team Leader of Youth & Family Services on 6257 2255.
‘Kick Start’ program
KickStart is a holiday program run in partnership with ACT Policing’s Indigenous Liaison Unit that is aimed at providing families accessing NCS services with fun, free community based activities
