Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
Northside has been working in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families to develop services that are both interesting, relevant and culturally appropriate.Current programs running from Northside involve tutoring and educational support, family holiday activities and social support groups to encourage parents to link in with thier local schools.
Aboriginal Education Program
This program is aimed at increasing the literacy and numeracy skills of children in need of a little extra support. Sessions are developed to engage and entertain particpants and are available both in school hours or after school.
Families in School Program
This program has been developed in consultation with parents in the community who want to play a more active role in thier childs schooling but are unsure how to go about it.
