About the venue

The Salthouse Community Centre in Haig Park provides a shared community space for creativity, learning and connection.

The centre – which opened in May 2023 – nestles into the beautiful park landscape north of Mort Street in Braddon.

It is named in dedication of Sue Salthouse, disability advocate and 2020 ACT Citizen of the Year.

Its facilities include:

• A large multi-purpose room for 20 people.
• A large community room for 20 people.
• A meeting room with board-style table for 10 people.
• One ambulant and two accessible and gender-sensitive bathrooms.
• A kitchenette as part of the community room.
• Tea, coffee, cutlery, plates, and glasses available.
• A wheelchair-compliant barbecue and picnic table.
• A public garden for meeting and sitting in.
• Tables and chairs are available for each room for the maximum capacity.
