Case Work for Young People

Northside Community Service offers short-term casework and supported referrals for young people between the ages of 12-25yrs old.

Case Work

Northside Youth Engagement offers goal-based Case Work, working alongside young people aged 12 to 25 to achieve immediate and short-term goals, needs and interests. Youth Case Work through Northside is available to a wide range of young people, however our support is particularly tailored to those who may face a range of disadvantages (e.g. safety, financial, housing, relationship, physical, wellbeing) and benefit from support to be able to reach the same outcomes as their peers.

Our Youth Engagement Officers work in partnership with young people using a range of methods to assess where they are at and where they want to go – without judgement.

Case Work with the Northside team allows a young person to co-develop their goals and develop skills, strength, confidence and options across a range of areas such as:

  • Accommodation & housing needs
  • Employment readiness & placement
  • Educational & training pathway
  • General health, including nutrition, sleep, building physical resilience
  • Mental health, wellbeing, and developmental challenges
  • Personal relationships, including domestic and/or family violence
  • Developing life skills through mentorship and coaching, including managing challenging emotions
  • Alcohol and substance misuse
  • Sexual health and safety
  • Identity and culture

Other – additional specific needs that you would like support with.

Case Work is flexible, active, practical and tailored based upon areas of shared interest, and you and your Youth Case Worker may work toward your goals while also engaging with sport, music, art, cooking, gardening, creativity etc.

And, if we find out we are not the right support for you, we will work with you to help navigate together the best option.

Participation in case work support is voluntary, centred on active engagement and focused on setting achievable goals.
