Community Assistance and Temporary Supports Program
The CATS Program supports Canberrans to stay safe and well during short-term health challenges. Northside provides personal care, domestic assistance, and food services for eligible participants.
We can support ACT residents who:
- Are ready to leave hospital but unable to access the supports to help you return home safely through an existing program such as the NDIS or Commonwealth aged care programs
- Have a health condition* that is temporary or terminal and not likely to get assistance through another program such as the NDIS or Commonwealth aged care programs.
- Have a health condition* that is significant and permanent, and either be in the process of applying for or appealing an application for supports through another program such as the NDIS or Commonwealth aged care programs.
*Health conditions for the CATS Program include health and mental health conditions.
Support under the CATS Program is limited to 6 months for participants, and 12 months for carers.
Here are some ways we can support you:
Domestic short-term help to maintain your home environment, support with personal hygiene, washing, showering, and dressing.
We can support you to prepare healthy and nutritious meals, as well as providing ready-to-eat frozen meals.
The CATS Program is delivered by funding from the ACT Government.
